Calling all local Floodplain Administrators in the Catskills portion of the NYC Watershed – you can attend a free two-day training “bootcamp” on floodplain administration and receive 12 Code Enforcement and CFM Credits. The training is April 8-9 from 8:30 – 4:30 at the Catskill Watershed Corporation Office in Arkville. Spots are still available. To learn more and register visit https://www.cceevents.org/e/fabt. DCSWCD Erosion and Sediment Control Training

Under the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Stormwater Permit GP-0-15-002, each contractor and sub-contractor identified by the project owner as being responsible for the implementation of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) must identify at least one individual from their company that will be responsible for implementation of the SWPPP as the trained contractor. The trained contractor must be on site on a daily basis when soil disturbance activities are being performed. In addition, developers must have a qualified inspector* conduct regular site inspections in accordance with GP-0-15-002. *A qualified inspector and trained individual must have 4 hours of training in the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control endorsed by NYS DEC, SWCD, or CPESC Inc. Training is good for 3 years.
